Save Big on Hanging Baskets and Support Your Club!

May. 02, 2023

Just in time for Mother's Day!

Purchase a voucher for $30  (VanKampen's is charging $40 at the greenhouse, so you save $16 when you add in the HST) and take the voucher into VanKampen's anytime in May or June to pick up your basket.  VanKampen's will be offering a buy 3 get 1 free promotion, but you still save $18 if you purchase 4 baskets vouchers from us ($120 vs $138 with HST)

To order your vouchers please email wcrfced@gmail.com.  Vouchers will be available at UPEI during the club assessments for the next two weeks or can be picked up at SoccerStop on University Ave.  Payment can be made with cash at the time of pickup or by e-transfer to the same email address.  Please use WCRFC as the password.

You get to choose from any of the Wave Petunia baskets in the greenhouse and they have 1000s to choose from.

The 12" basket is the brown container, not the smaller white 10" container.  It is one of VanKampen's biggest selling items so there are lots of options.

You can also cut off the hanger and put the baskets on your deck or into another planter for instant Spring around your home.

The planters come with VanKampen's usual guarantees, and they will provide care instructions.

The petunia is one of the hardier flowers and can take the cooler temperatures of the PEI Spring.

This fundraiser is in support of our senior men's and women's teams going to Club Nationals in Halifax in October.  WCRFC has made a commitment in our strategic plan to send Senior Teams to club nationals every year.  In 2022 we sent a senior men's team to Ontario to compete and they finished 7th in the country, beating Quebec in their final game.  Unfortunately we could not organize a senior women's team for last years event.

This year we have both  a women's and men's team preparing for club nationals.  These teams will be training twice a week at UPEI, playing in the NB Senior League, as well competing with Island teams in the PEI Senior leagues.  Both teams are also playing in the Maritime Super Series event with teams from Halifax and Fredericton.  Most of the players on the teams are university and college students and play with Varsity Soccer teams in the fall. This is great training for these players to prepare them for the UPEI and Holland College seasons.

Each team has a budget of over $20,000 to cover expenses associated with travel and training and all of these costs are paid by the players.  As most of us know, being a College or University Student usually means living on a budget, so the teams are looking for community support through fundraising and sponsorship.

WCRFC will be helping the teams with their fundraising efforts through the summer and thank our members for what ever support they can give.  If anyone is interested in sponsorship of the teams please contact us at WCRFCED@gmail.com.

Special thanks to our 2023 Season Sponsors
